What HappenedA violent rain with almost zero visibility, Captain John Lerro, was driving his
ship when he slammed into the South Pier of the southbound span of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida. |
State the Cause of DisasterThe cause of this disaster was the heavy rain pour which caused difficulty seeing in which a boat crashed into the bridge.

What they learnedThe lesson learned here was that they needed to make the bridge higher up so that even in such conditions boats could clear it, also they needed to put lights on the bridge so that in such conditions you still had somewhat of visibilty.

AftermathThe bridge was rebuilt, they now have weather advisorys and closings of the bridge when conditions are bad.

AftermathThe bridge was cleaned up. Efforts were put into designing a new bridge and with sucess the bridge was rebuilt and is still in use today.
